Aam-Ka-Jutsu (USA):

The phrase Aam-Ka-Jutsu translates as follows, Aam stands for American, Ka stands for Karate, and
Jutsu stands for art or science. Therefore; Aam-Ka-Jutsu could be portrayed as the American Karate Art,
or the science of American Karate. A-K-J derives techniques and strategies from the major styles of:
Karate, Judo, Tae Kwon Do, Arnis, Aikido, JuJutsu, Kung Fu, and weapons. A-K-J adapts their principles
and ideologies to conform to the needs of the American practitioner. They include, both, soft and hard
styles of martial arts. Soft styles generally involve high mobile stances and rely on circular movements of
the body to control an attacker. Learning to flow with, and overcome an attacker’s energy is a must for
the soft stylist. Hard styles generally involve low rooted stances for a strong foundation. Quick and
devastating linear strikes are a trademark of hard styles. A-K-J involves everything from grappling to
aerial techniques. A-K-J is the practical application of these techniques and strategies for their intended
purpose of self-protection. The results of applying an A-K-J technique and/or strategy to an opponent
may range from, restraining to maiming to lethal. A-K-J is truly a complete self-defense system.

A-K-J is what the Japanese refer to as “BuJutsu”. BuJutsu is the method or system a student chooses,
when they learn the techniques and strategies of self-protection. A-K-J is the studying or analyzing of
what one practices. It involves, taking a technique apart and then putting it back together again. Through
this process a student will have a better understanding of how it works.

A-K-J is what one practices. It is the exercises and drills used to learn self-defense.

A-K-J is the perfection of a technique or strategy, so that it becomes an effective, instinctive and reflexive
action.

A-K-J is the martial art.

In any ideology there are facts and there are theories. A-K-J is the martial artist proving a martial theory.
For example, it is a fact that our legs are longer and stronger than our arms. This is something we can
measure. Where as the statement, “It is an advantage in sparring to use the legs instead of the arms”,
is just a theory. If a boxer knocks out a kick boxer, then the theory would be disproved. A-K-J is the
training and practicing required to prove a theory, over and over again, making it a fact.

A-K-J is unlike many other martial arts. Practitioners of other styles of martial arts rely on techniques that
have been the same for hundreds of years. The idea of, thats the way it was and thats the way it is, is
archaic. Most traditional martial artists are uncompromising in their approach to teaching their students.
When there is a more effective and realistic way to accomplish a task, it should be done. Just think,
where would we be today if the medical field stop searching for answers just 30 years ago. A-K-J is a
progressive style of martial art, it evolves continuously.

The simplicity of A-K-J allows for a student to learn and progress quickly. Starting from their first day. The
complexity of A-K-J requires more than a lifetime to master.
